Excerpts from Battle Cry Good vs Evil
Chapter 4: The Mind Is the Battlefield, the Heart Is the Fort
Every day we are challenged by a multitude of spiritually influenced choices that profoundly affect our lives. Good and evil, positive and negative, any way you want to frame it, there are unseen spiritual forces vying for our attention. The spiritual conflict that takes place in the brain during the decision-making process is what makes the mind the battlefield. The decisions we make and the action we take ultimately affect the heart. As we examine the condition of the world and what we continue to witness, can we deny the devil has a foothold on the hearts of many?
Author’s comments: Once he penetrates the fort and gets a foothold, he’ll successfully influence you for as long as you allow.
Chapter 3: Satan, the Enemy
If you find yourself becoming someone you don’t recognize, there’s a good chance, Satan is successfully influencing you. He knows when you are most vulnerable. He knows when and how to precisely attack. He gets into your psyche where he attempts to influence your choices. He’ll have you going down dark paths that contradict everything you’ve ever wanted. Before you know what happened, you lose sight of everything most important. First Peter 5:8–9 (NLT) says, “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.”
Author’s comments: He’s the enemy. He wants to devour. He’s spiritually attacking our family of believers all over the world. Doesn’t this shed Light on why there’s so much darkness and suffering?
