As we emotionally deal with the social and economic impact of the pandemic, the social unrest and the political division, we can find ourselves uncertain and overwhelmed, losing faith, and feeling like everything’s out of control. No matter what we see happening, we must never stop believing our God is bigger than everything and everyone. We can’t control everything that impacts our lives. We’re overwhelmed enough controlling what we actually can control. Identify the things you try to control, but can’t and shouldn’t. Give that control to God. Let Him take away some of the stress. Just give it away. After all, He’s God. So let God be God!

Chapter 3: Satan, the Enemy
Giving up control and learning to rely on the strength of the Holy Spirit can be very difficult. It’s difficult, because the mind is the spiritual battlefield and Satan has inside knowledge. He knows when you are most vulnerable. He knows when and how to precisely attack. He gets into your psyche where he attempts to influence your choices. He’ll have you going down dark paths that contradict everything you’ve ever wanted. Before you know what happened, you lose sight of everything most important. Satan’s ability to influence your mind, ultimately affects your heart. Once he affects your heart, he has penetrated the fort.
Author’s comments: In Acts 26:18 (NLT) Jesus says, “To open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.” To turn away from darkness and the power of Satan, we must rely on the power of God, through the strength of the Holy Spirit.
