The Way and the Truth

In this difficult time of a pandemic, compounded with the rise of social and political division, the only Way, the only Truth, is to turn our full attention to God.  Jesus says in John 14:6 (NLT) says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”  In John 10:10 (NLT) Jesus says, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

Chapter 4:  The Mind Is the Battlefield, the Heart Is the Fort

As we examine the condition of the world and what we continue to witness, can we deny the devil has a foothold on the hearts of many?  Can we deny the evil associated with the hatred and rage in response to religion, skin color, sexual preference, and politics?  Watch the news, surf the internet, or simply observe other people and the choices being made.  Do we see the love of God, or the hate of Satan?  God is love, the devil is hate.  Labeling by skin color is a lie.  Satan is the Father of Lies, so who do you think is behind our ungodly obsession with skin color?

Author’s comments:  When you see all the hateful rhetoric, this is not who we are together in Christ.  When under the influence of the evil one, we are divided.  God does not want us to be divided; He wants us to come together.

In John 8:44 Jesus says, “For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does.  He was a murderer from the beginning.  He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”  First Peter 5:8–9 says, “Stay alert!  Watch out for your great enemy, the devil.  He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.  Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.  Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.”  He’s the enemy.  He wants to devour.  He’s spiritually attacking our family of believers all over the world.  Doesn’t this shed Light on why there’s so much darkness and suffering?

Author’s comments:  Our differences should never be justification for division and hate.  If you find yourself judging or hating because someone doesn’t look like you, or think like you, do you think this represents godly behavior?  Our differences don’t make anyone inferior or superior.  Besides, who died and left you in charge?  Jesus died, He’s in charge.
